Maybe you have already recognized that i may be not the really happiest man i know. Maybe you have already read that i have a lot of problems with my wife in my life. Happy wife, happy life, they say, but what should i do if there´s nothing i can make her happy with. I buy her presents, i fullfill her wishes, i spend quality time with her, or i even try to, but most of the time Instagram and TikTok are much more important than me. But it´s ok, i used to accept that she will never be happy and will complain for the rest of her life. But there are things… sometimes… i can not even believe that she really thinks about.
One of these things happend yesterday nad i just wanted to cry about so much idiocracy.
For this i will need to explain a bit before you may understand what i am talking about. I am writing in english so i think that a lot of people reading this are also english speakers. Maybe from the USA i think, or maybe i hope so, don´t really know. In the USA living is not like in Europe, more people life in their own houses, not in a flat, like in europe. Houses here are much more expensive than in the USA and also there´s the problem that we don´t have so much houses or building spaces where people want to live, so it´s completely normal not to own, or rent, a house.
The thing happens when we talked about the costs that are not included in our rent, like energy, heating the flat, heating the water and such things. Ok we do only one payment and get an invoice once a year. Than it decides if you have paid enough in advance or not. Maybe you´ll get some money back or you will need to pay the costs that are not payed yet.
In our flat we have a waterheater, we call it boiler. It´s an electric device where the water flows trough to get heatet. It uses round aboout 24.000 watts of energy on power mode and 12.000 watts on normal mode. Other people may have gas heating but we are really happy that we don´t have such things at the moment. Only our flat is heated with a central gas heater but i think thats another story… i think we will heat our flat with computers and bitcoins this year, or i will even try to… maybe it´s much cheaper than using gas. You may know that gas prices in europe are 8 times higher than in the USA but i am getting to far away from what i wanted to tell you.
We were filling our fishtank and i tried to make the mixed water in the tank warmer so i took a bucket of hot water, to fill it in the cold water, so that the tank temperature rises a bit. Our cold water is really cold, roundabout 16-17 degrees celsius and we need 25 degrees in the tank. So it´s completely ineffective to let the tank heater do the temperature raise alone, cuase this little 100 watt heater will need to power a really long time.
Long story short, my wife said that i would be dumb to use warm water, instead i should only use cold water, cause the costs of cold water are spread on all flats in the house…
Yeah… what an idea…

There is no chance than to use cold water. The water is heated in our waterheater, thats in our kitchen at the wall. The water costs will ever be split among all flats in the house, it doesn´t matter if you use cold or hot water cause you only get cold water. The heating is done with the water heater that uses electricity to heat water. It doesn´t matter HOW the water gets warm, with the water heater or with the tank heater, we will pay for the electricity and the water costs will be split among everybody in the house.
Why is this so dumb? Everybody could make a failure you may think? Maybe i am just unfair?
No the problem is that my wife i the oppinion that i am not able to do our finances. Normally i let her do, i teached her to do it right. Don´t ask me please. She wants to think that she had the power to control all the money, she needs this, but without a complete plan for the whole year, she would fail that hard that we would live under a bridge.
But also she controls the cost invoices for our flat. Here in germany the landlord pays everything in advance and makes the invoice for you at the end of the year. So he already payed the water costs, gas costs and such things. So my wife controlls that invoices every year. Not hard to say that it ends up me in calculating everything again, but i let her think that she has the control. So she should know that nobody pays for warm water. The warm water is heated by our own electricity, not by any central heater like in other flats. So she should know this.
That makes this comment so fucking dumb that i could cry… am i to hard?
It was not a joke, it took me more than an hour to explain her why this sentence was not right and completely dumb. Sorry but i am a bit diappointed about such things, it´s not the first time… i didn´t married an idiot….
